Our Story
Rooted in Passion. Inspired by the Land.
In 2003, as Temecula Wine Country began to revive after the devastation of Pierce’s disease in the 1990s, Dito and Jeanne Diez planted their roots—literally. They purchased five acres in the heart of the valley, moved their family to the mountains, and began a journey sparked by their love of great wine and the dream of creating something lasting.
Frequent trips to Napa and Paso Robles deepened their appreciation for smooth, expressive wines, and in 2012, a friendship with local grower Jeff Sanders of Purely Corrupt Vineyards introduced them to the art of hands-on winemaking. Dito was instantly captivated by the process—from vine to barrel—and in 2014, the couple planted their first estate varietals. One year later, the inaugural vintage was produced on-site at 2156 Estate Vineyard.
A Boutique Vineyard with Big Flavor
Today, 2156 Estate Vineyard is a boutique winery devoted to crafting bold, full-bodied reds with smooth, elegant finishes. Our commitment to small-batch, handcrafted wines has earned us numerous accolades, including:

- Platinum Medal (94 pts) – 2020 Petite Sirah
- Best Viognier in Competition (93 pts) – 2022 Estate Viognier
- Multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals across three major competitions
These awards are a testament to our passion, attention to detail, and the unique microclimate of our elevated estate property—2156 feet above sea level.
Experience the Magic
Every bottle we produce reflects the love we have for our land, our process, and our community. As head winemaker, Dito Diez continues to share his expertise with fellow wine enthusiasts, welcoming those curious to learn and those who simply love to sip.
And every evening, without fail, we pause to watch the sunset. It’s a ritual we cherish—and now, it’s even on our wine labels.
